Tragedies

My heart goes out to all the victims of hurricane Katrina and the victims of the stampede in Iraq.
I don't know anybody affected by either situation but I am sickened by the smug politicising concerning the hurricane, particularly since it's completely counterfactual. Thankfully these difficult situations also bring out heroes.
